The SK Jodhpur Marathon 2025, held on 14 December in the Blue City, brought together runners across 21 km,10 km and 3 km categories to celebrate fitness, unity and community spirit, in an electrifying atmosphere that truly made Jodhpur run with pride.

Raipur experienced an exhilarating SK Raipur Marathon on March 3, 2024. The event was flagged off by the renowned Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary, who infused the event with unmatched energy and excitement, setting the tone for a day filled with passion and sportsmanship. The marathon showcased four races of varying distances - 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and 3 kilometers, bringing together thousands of participants from diverse backgrounds, making it a truly inclusive and unforgettable event.

With an AUM (assets under management) of Rs. 4714 crore, SK Finance is one of the country’s foremost NBFCs today. The company earned a profit of Rs. 143 crore last year, with a market presence across ten Indian States. Rajendra Kumar Setia, the promoter and managing director, however, states that sustainability has always been the core philosophy for building the business, and not sheer speed. He also opines that despite fluctuations and shocks like the sub-prime crisis in 2008, ILFS crisis, GST, demonetization, and even the coronavirus pandemic, the company has always come out strong due to its rigid standards of corporate governance and sustainable approach. SK Finance is now aiming to double its AUM within the next three years, and Rajendra Kumar Setia also mentions that the core goal is to encourage and develop lakhs of Indian entrepreneurs and provide them support throughout their journeys. He offered an example where lakhs of drivers have become owners and how their empowerment has created a bright future for the company. The founder has himself gone through several upheavals in life, losing a small finance company that he began in 1991, just after getting married in the year 1993. With his uncles and father separating their family business, his finance business then went to an uncle. However, his father backed him in setting up another company in the year 1994. He never took any loans for expansion and it was majorly a small-scale operation at first. The actual wave of growth happened in 2006 after the rollout of corporate governance standards, while the company began functioning as direct-selling agents for HDFC Bank and many others. It also raised Rs. 15 crores in 2010 from banks, by putting up his house and office as security. The institution then started financing tractors, small commercial vehicles, and cars according to Setia. With network expansion and a robust balance sheet, 2012 saw Banyan Tree becoming a PE investor, putting in Rs. 18 crore. The company valuation also surged to Rs. 72 crore as a result. The company never had to look back according to Setia, while getting investors every 6-12 months and scaling up its presence in Gujarat with 35 branches in 2014. Currently, SK Finance has six marquee investors who have 60% of company equity. The rest are promoter-owned. The company has already scaled up its presence to 10 States and 425+ branches, while possessing more than 6,500 employees on its rolls. It forayed into the business loan segment in 2018, which accounts for 16% of its business currently. His father’s inspirational journey saw Setia shelving his ambitions of becoming a doctor to venture into the field of finance, with spectacular results. SK Finance is now poised to take the next leap in its chequered journey, with the next generation set to join the business.
